Ad Agencies Need Talent. Young, Seasoned or Otherwise…

As usual, the comments of this NYT article are as interesting as the article itself.

How can ad agencies woo and retain young talent? Hint: it’s not bean bag chairs.

  • Increase wages
  • Produce exciting work
  • Copy the perks of startups
  • Acknowledge diversity challenges
  • Bolster mentorship and training programs

Yes, all true. And…I’m left with more questions about the (sometimes questionable) value of advertising, the (perhaps outdated) notion of paying your dues, and the (often overlooked) role of seasoned, experienced talent.
